Once upon a time, when I was 8 years old, in a place called Pondok Karya, Jakarta , Indonesia, there used to be a lot of trees, and at night I used to see a lot of and really a lot of fireflies with their green lights blinking on those trees. Today, that I am heading 48 years old, my childlish heart is searching for them. Where are they? Can we bring them back???

Tolong....tolong!

  1. I lived in an area that had fireflies and share your delight in  their magic.  Unfortunately, they appeared less and later each year as forests were leveled for houses and roads.  Larvae  need soil and leaf litter, so it's  another story of loss of habitat.  I'm sure that I, too, if I were to return, would look for them and grieve.   There's probably not much hope of their return, we humans are just too successful.

  2. They are already in history. But who knows, they might appear someday.
