Lots from Aussie, then US (Hawaii, CA, FL), and in recent decades more and more people from Brasil, France, UK, and the South Pacific.  Really, from anywhere there are waves to ride...brah...D

surfers arent born in a special place, theres pro surfers born in the worst surfing spots in the world.  depends on the talent and their training.  oh and theres also flowriders to train on in shore.

Depends upon whether you consider where they are originally from, as in where they spent their childhood.

Pat O'Connell (former WCT surfer now with Hurley)  is originally from Chicago.  Marlon Lipke on the WQS is from Germany, but he lives in Portugal a lot.

Rick Kane was from Arizona.  (Hopefully somebody gets this last one.)  Yeah, Laird was Lance Burkhardt.  Occy was in it too.
