Question:

Where are "Open Homes" I can look at during the weekend in Orange County, CA near Cypress?

I am looking to purchase a house (not just a regular house, but one of those "track" homes.. the ones that are two-stories and look exactly like the other surrounding houses next to it) I am looking to live in the cities of Cypress, Cerritos, Los Alamitos, or Anaheim in California. I do not want to hire a Real estate agent because I do not have the money for one right now and I do not like speaking with them because sometimes they can be really pushy! Lol.. So please, if you know of any good locations around or in the cities I mentioned that have "OPEN HOUSES" during the weekend please give me as much information on them as you can... Please do NOT respond by posting a stupid, non-helpful, waste-of-my-time answer! Thank you. (If you are a Real estate agent.. your answers would be helpful :-)

  1. First, a real estate agent doesn't cost a dime. They are paid by the seller at closing. If you can approach a FSBO, sometimes you can get a better deal since the owner doesn't have to pay a realtor. I would find FSBO's that have been for sale for a while. Typically, they are more motivated and you can find a nice deal. Don't rule out working with a realtor as they can show you what is available and they typically know about many of the FSBO's out there. The final, and most important, thing is to have an appraisal done and trust what the appraiser says. If he says your dream home is overpriced, he is probably right. Don't pay cash to close the difference.
