  2. I have fished from charter boats & from shore in the Keys.

It really depends on WHAT you want to catch?

From shore: You can hit some "Parks" & fish from bridges and be assured to catch "something", (Snapper, Grouper,Cuda, ETC.). Mangrove snappers are super easy to "Chum-up" from a bridge abuttment, and they taste great.

Concept for catching Mangroves: Find a deep water bridge abuttment or channel. Start "chumming" immediatly. You can throw some "jigs"(1/4-1/2 OZ, Chartruesse, & White), but , drifting "cutbait" & "live-bait" into a school of Snapper is deadly. Expect to "chum" heavily until some fish show up.

This scenario works for many species of fishy's.

OR you can "RUN & GUN": Continue to drive around until you find a school of fish. This is expensive & time consuming. Better to wait & chum in a good tidal-area than waist energy driving around.

Ask around at any bait shop. Most people will tell you where to catch Mangrove S.

However, if "Bonefish" , "Tarpon", "Snook", "Redfish", "Permit" is what you are after, you will need a guide. You can occasinally catch a stray "tarpon" or "Red" while wading around bridges & channels but it is rare.

  3. Cape canaveral, nice boat, good food, not a buttload of $$$$$, good fishing, unlimited fountain refills, check the website below for info and pics.

  4. Sugar Loaf Key. We had a blast fishing there...
