Where are some good, inexpensive places to go for a honeymoon?

My fiancee and I, like most couples, are on a tight budget for our wedding. We live in Wisconsin, and would like to go someplace that has a beach. We're looking more for romance and relaxation than adventure and crowds. We would be going the second week in June. Anyone have any great ideas for a honeymoon less than $2000?

  1. Some of the best deals are cruises.  Take a look at the deals at http://www.vacationstogo.com.  I have used this site before and my daughter recently booked her honeymoon cruise here.

Registering for a honeymoon is becoming a popular thing to do.  My daughter (whose getting married in June) has registered and it's surprising how many of her friends are excited to buy things for her to do on her honeymoon.  http://www.sandiego-romantics.com/honeym...

    Congratulations!

  2. Malta

  3. My suggestion is to go talk to a travel agent and tell them what you've told us here.  They can help you more than any one else.

    Congrats on the upcoming nupitals.

  4. Well I saw that the smallest island of Hawaii, Lanai, has friendly people and a population of only 5,000.

There are beaches that are free, but of course no life guard duty.

Sorry this won't help much but I thought I'd bring it up.

  5. If you are interested in a tropical beach location with warm, clear blue waters I would suggest La Romana or Puna Cana in the Dominican Republic.  In June, two can fly there from the U.S. and stay for a week at a big all-inclusive hotel (your meals are included in the price) for around your budget!  Just keep in mind that you may possibly get a bit of rain in June, but as far as I know if it does rain it comes in spurts and doesn't last all day.  Also, with summer being off-season there it will be less crowded.

  6. My fiance and i are planning on going to turkey for our honeymoon because it is so cheap, so that could be an option, i also hear spain is quite cheap as well.

  7. Rent a caravan, get it into a caravan park near the beach, hope for sunshine, and bring a towel.

  8. Try Door County - its great.

Also, the UP and along the shore of Lake Superior

    A little further

Niagra Falls or Poconos - both are great and fun
