other then shimla and manila, both have way to many foreigners.

There are lots of Honey moon spots in Kerala, south India.

You can choose whether to go to hill stations or coastal areas or  spending time in Backwaters..house boats etc.

It's really not that cold even in northern India in winter (kind of like New York or Philadelphia). However, the mountain roads may occasionally be blocked by heavy snow. Factor this into your schedule. You won't face any weather problems in the south or on the coasts.

Kodaikanal, Ooty or Darjeeling. All are very beautiful hill stations. If you want adventure, you can go to Rajasthan. Don't go to Simla because it is too crowded and "industrialized". There is also a place called Renuka Jheel in Himachal. Not well-known but very peaceful and beautiful.

Have you thought of the Kerala Backwaters. Shalimar Spice Garden in Thekkady, Kerala is nice. Its proximity to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Kerala backwaters and tea & spice plantations offers interesting insights to one of the most beautiful places in India. In my view Darjeeling is the best place for Honeymoon. This is really a nice place to visit. Toy train of Darjeeling, Tea gardens, scenic atmosphere and beautiful valleys and hills make this place heaven. You can also visit Gulmarg which is really a good place to visit. If you love hills then you can go to Kashmir, Dharamsala, North-East. Just be prepared for the cold bites & take loads of woollens with you.

Otherwise Kerala is one of the best honeymoon destinations of India. Andamans, Jaisalmer, Udaipur are also wonderful.

If you wanna go little beyond & depending on which winter month you go, you can visit Nepal, another awesome place for love birds! But it's very cold in winters.

In winter, hill stations will be very cold. You won't enjoy. Why dont you try out to Goa or Kerala. Winters are the ideal season to visit these places.
