i have heard that genji was a good place to go for karaoke - but i havent been myself.

oh its on westheimer, the closest main interesection to it is westheimer and dunvale.

SRO on 1960 and Cutten has karaoke. I'm not sure what constitutes it being good, because when I was there everyone was drunk as sh*%, but singing like they just got record deals.. It was awesome!
