Where are some good places in the Northeast Alabama area for beginning kayakers to paddle?

Check with the Alabama Department of Fish & Game they may have a listing of paddling trails with a listing of skill levels. In Texas the Parks and Wildlife Department has a listing on their website for both freshwater as well as saltwater paddling trails.
