I need to know where I can find a nice two bedroom apt for around 800 a month in a good neighborhood and also away from the main city area. My wife doesn't want to be too close to all the major traffic.

  1. Try Lawrenceville, Duluth, Buford area.

Its about 35-40 minutes from the city depending on traffic. All are very nice areas

  2. 800 isn't going to get you very far.

I live in Cumming which is pretty affordable.  You might be able to find something here.  It's about 45 minutes north east of Atlanta and pretty good on traffic.

You should try Alpharetta, Suwanee, Buford, Dahlonega...

    They're all really great communities.

    Stay away from Dekalb.

  3. Vinings, Smyrna, Marietta, Alpharetta, Sandy Springs.  These are fairly near the city, but outside of it.  Unfortunately if you don't want to be hassled by the traffic you are out of luck, that is the worst thing about living in and near metro Atlanta.  If you don't want traffic look at moving north to somewhere like Cummings or south like Peachtree City or Newnan.

  4. Dunwoody, Smyrna, Sandy Springs, Duluth.

Venture out further and try Lawrenceville.
