Where are some good places to visit in Germany?

you know, tourist places, sight seeing...that kind of stuff. my dad is planning to take me this summer but i don't have any idea where to go. any info or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Berlin..I spent two days in Berlin and went to the old East Berlin..that the Communist used to control.

There is so many things to see..and they have a bus you can see all the sites..and pay one price and ride all day..get off when you want ..and it is also a tour bus with recorded information on the sites..in eight different languages..including English...

And then: Hamburg is worth to visit with it's big harbour, downtown with it's Alster Lake, some trendy districts ( Schanzenviertel,Karolinenviertel, Blankenese) and lost of musicals.
