Depending on your budget, you can take her to Rosebud.  It is a great Italian place there are two downtown & one in the NW Suburbs Schaumburg area.  It is not badly priced & a really good date area.  If she is a fun type pf girl take her to the comedy club in Woodfield mall.  I am sure that whatever you decide will be great.  She will appreciate the fact that you put thought into it!

the mercat a la planxa is more expensive, but a great date atmosphere - the lighting is dim and there are small lights hanging from the ceiling. the menu is also designed for sharing, which is perfect for a date.
