Where are some great places to volunteer at?

I love children aswell as pets. So obviously with pets it would make sense to do so at animal shelter. But what else?

There are multiple great places to volunteer at.:) Some include the hospital.Garden Centers, Nurseries. The local Church such as you can volunteer doing Vacation Bible School, Sunday School, or even working in a nursery if you like kids.Animal Shelters and Veterinary Offices. The YMCA usually takes volunteers and you can work with kids or anywhere they put you.Libraries The fire station, The nursing homes or Retirement Communities. Museums and Aquariums. There are tons of places.

I did a lot of volunteering... let's see.... what could you do...

- at a church... Vacation Bible School... Sunday School etc.

- help at an orphanage (read books, play games etc.)

- volunteer at a retirement home (taking people for a walk, read the newspaper etc.)... also great at hospitals... visit those who don't get visitors...

- we even had a fire department that was only done by trained volunteers... really great thing, my parents just wouldn't allow me to participate...

- volunteer with the Red Cross

- I nearly forgot the obvious: soup kitchen and thrift stores...

- take the dogs for a walk at an animal shelter

- If you got time go to places where people need help because of floods, hurricanes and fires...

My favorite place to volunteer is with the fire department, but I'm somewhat biased, having been a volunteer EMT for 6 years now.
