  1. There are many National Parks in Mexico. Also, in the region where I live near Xalapa ,Veracruz there are seveal nature preserves and ëcological parks.


  2. Check all the Baja California web sites. Much of the Gulf of California and its biota is protected. Unfortunately, the Pacific shoreline isn't protected from condo builders.

  3. On the Yucatan Peninsula there's the Celestun Biosphere Reserve and Sian Ka'an Biosphere Reserve.  Check out the links below.

  4. Almost all of the coast of Jalisco is protected.  Mostly it's lagoons for the many creatures that live there ... or beaches where turtles lay eggs (most beaches).

    The two links to Chamela below refer to a large area considered an arid jungle - if that makes sense.  Very dry in the winter and dense and green in the summer.  Very interesting area but I'm sure there many more in Mexico.
