  1. In a large metropolitan area like Los Angeles/Orange county

you should not have any difficulty finding "qualified" vocal coaches for classical performers.

One option is to call the local campus of UCLA or SMU and the music department may refer you to some faculty members

who in turn most probably know about vocal coaches in that area.

Also a simple search about Vocal Art Teachers or Voice Teachers in the LA area may produce some leads for you to follow up.

Another good source is the LA Opera Co. that will have someone in the staff that can also refer you to a Voice Coach.

    Good Luck

  2. I take lessons in the Orange County area, but my teacher is pretty much booked--she doesn't have room for any other students. There are plenty of teachers around here, though. Your best bet is to find a teacher who is affiliates with NATS (national association of teachers of singing). Here is their "teacher-search" page; type in the city you are looking for and it should come up with a list of qualified teachers in the area. Good luck!
