Are we to suffer the tyranny of spoiled, emotionally immature, pluralistic, morally relativistic, humiliatingly under educated fools of today or is there hope? Where are the great thinkers, those willing to sacrifice, those willing to debate and put everything they have on the altar of freedom today? I don't care what party they are from or what their personal politics are. I just want some of the smartest people in the world to get together and make some really intelligent plans for our future. Am I without hope?

  1. You listed 4 men that could be argued as being some of the greatest people ever. They don't come around often, unfortunately.

  2. Given that the franchise has expanded to include everyone over 18 (i.e. back in the 18th century only the highly educated and elite could vote and take part in politics), not in public service. Today, the only politicians who are listened to are those who can appeal to the masses.

  3. I think our hope for the future will come from people in the private sector and not those in alleged public service.  People like Bill Gates.

  4. The TJ's, JA's, GW's of yester year are todays presidents. But today... it is a little different. For instance... Eisenhower was instrumental in building the highways system as a defense tool.  Nixon opened the door to China. Reagon expanded the economy, brought down the Berlin Wall and ended the Cold War.  And the BF's today... how Martin Luther King and the civil rights movement and Henry Kissengers diplomacy?  They are here... we just have to use our eyes and ears to notice them.
