Havana Village - I have only been on Friday nights and I realy love the place....3 floors and there is always a band on the first floor not always playing salsa band....the food is good and the drinks are strong.  You can go to this place with or without a partner and never sit down :)

On Thursday Nights try Mango Mike's in Alexandria. Great spot.

Havana Village in Adams Morgan is okay but the people that go there tend to be grimy.  Check out Guarapos in Arlington, minutes away from the Key Bridge and Georgetown on Fridays and Saturdays.  They have excellent cheap Cuban cuisine in a trendy lounge type atmosphere.  Around 9:30ish the salsa band comes out and they are d**n good.  Upstairs they play house and techno.  You can also get hookahs if you're into that.  Highly recommended.  Lucky Bar in DC (Connecticut Ave) on Monday nights is crazy.  Some of the best salsa dancers in DC go there.  But be warned you have to bring your A game to lucky bar on Monday nights.  The way they dance is amazing, like something out of a movie!
