I am looking for a place that has full hook ups and allows dogs.Near or on a nice beach preferable. With nice campgrounds and views. Activities for kids would be a great bonus for the campsites too! Don't know Saskatchewan very well so please help.

  1. Here are some places I have been and know that they're wonderful:

Echo Valley - pretty big campsite, right by Fort Qu'appelle, close enough to a small town so you can get supplies, really pretty and right in the valley

Candle Lake - northern Sask, like someone said above me, right by Prince Albert, about 35 minutes away. It's a really nice small community with mini golf, a consignment shop, a beauty salon, gas stations etc.

Katepwa - decent sized beach that's hardly every over populated in the summer, it's one of our best kept secrets that is really nice. There's a restaurant there, mini golf and actual golf

Buffalo Pound - right by Moose Jaw, they have a lot for

you to do, they even have a swimming pool right by the beach!

  2. In the southern part of the province, my favourite has always been Moose Mountain Provincial Park.

Farther north, I'm fond of Good Spirit Lake Provincial Park near Yorkton and all of the major parks and lakes around Prince Albert: Candle Lake, Emma Lake, and then, farther north, Anglin Lake (hmmmm ... might not be well set up for trailer camping) and Prince Albert National Park. Book ahead for all of them. Candle Lake is a complete madhouse on the August long weekend, so try to avoid it.

You know, just about any provincial parks are pretty good. The only national park to avoid is Grasslands, which is really oriented to hiking and tent camping and has few amenities. Having said that, Cypress Hills Provincial Park, just to the northwest of Grasslands, is very good, too.

  3. My in-laws go to Little Bear Lake which is NE of Prince Albert.  The entire area is heavily treed and the lake is very nice.  Campgrounds and grocery stores as well as restaurants are also available.  Nice and quiet, good for boating and fishing.
