  1. there are some places called casas de cambio, just be careful thta they say NO COMISION, those can be costly, banks are also safe, it can be a bit less than other places, but its a safer environment. just as in other places in the world, always be careful of your surroundings.

  2. I was just in cancun 2 weeks ago.  My best suggestion is to take a lot of $1 bills with you; you can use those on the bus as it is 65cents and they will give you change.  Also, usually the hotel where you are staying is able to exchange your american dollars for the mexican pesos.  If you are not familiar with their currency/prices educate yourself on it a bit.

Basicly if something says it is 240 pesos it's $24.  You just drop that zero off.  A mexican coin showing $10 is only $1.00.

Also, the exchange rate changes daily but they will always take what is most beneficial to them if it is a couple of cents here and there it's no big deal.  Just ask a reputable party at any 4 or 5 star hotel and they are very helpful.  Good luck

  3. Actually , i have found airports and casas de cambio to NOT give the best rates  the best rate is given by banks and ATM machines. The best idea is to use your ATM card.  Call your bank before you leave home ( the customer service number on your card) and tell them you will be in Mexico.

  4. I use my ATM card! There is a small fee to use your card...about 70 cents US but you receive the very best conversion rate.

There are bank owned ATM machines everywhere and the charge and conversion rate are the same.

Please don't exchange at the hotel, airport or exchange company...use the bank/ATM.

  5. No need to exchange dollars for pesos. Dollars are accepted every where. You can exchange at the airport, your hotel or the exchange booths on the street if you desire.

$1.00 =10.7765 pesos. To round it up, a peso is 1 dime.

Be aware, the ATM machine disperse pesos only and the bills are not small. Bring plenty of dollar bills for small purchases, bus fare and tips.

    good luck)

  6. dont do it. Cancun's currency is all in dollars because it attracts mostly americans. I would just keep your money in dollars

  7. Use US currency........then you won't lose on resale.......

  8. The airport money exchange they have the best rates.
