Where are the best places to eat in the USA?

Question

Anyplace that has the best food for a good price I'm looking for. I'm going on a roadtrip around the usa this summer, but nowhere in the Northeast (MD, DE, PA, NJ, NY, ME, NH, VT, MA, CT, RI or Hawaii & Alaska)....I'm vegetarian, so no best hamburgers or steaks, lol, but I'm really a fan of all things sweet/ desserts, especially sorbet or anything vegan, and I looove Thai food and Vietnamese Pho soup. I also love anything healthy or "raw" or "living" food, and I love going to orchards and farms and picking my own fruit and whatnot... Farmers markets are awesome, or gourmet/ whole food stores, like Trader Joes and Wild Oats/ Whole Foods. I like funky supermakets or stores where they have many locally produced products. Basically I'm a vegetarian foodie, so anything culinary I love. Please let me know any ideas you have, thanks!

Hmm... based on your description of yourself, I'm guessing you already live in Berkeley, CA. But if not, you probably should check it out as soon as possible. Especially the Berkeley Bowl.

i am from CT but if you go south .. Daytona beach itself has so many wonderful places to eat on the beach side, maybe this could be a recommendation.

Pho Cali is good on Main Street in Sarasota. Vietnamese

Sweet Tomatoes has a good salad bar-----fresh and reasonable.

Asheville NC has some GREAT vegetarian places- !!!

.................... and California for sure has amazing veggie places-  San fransisco has everything! The Stinking  Rose Garlic Restaurant is fabulous!!!
