Where are the best places to fish in Sarasota?

I am going fishing with my son and my wife. Me and my son want to go fishing somewhere good in Sarasota. We are going to be stayeing in a hotel for a few days. Please help!!!

There are really 100s of places to fish from the shore or surf.  If yall really want to catch some fish, charter a light tackle boat for a half day trip.  Go to the marina and you will find quite a few charter operations.

if you want salt water fishing then look no further than the coast. Freshwater... check out lake Myakka just on the east side of sarasota
