Of course you have to go out to the mountains.   Banff/Jasper - that's one of the  most beautiful drives in the world.  

The zoo, Heritage Park, Olympic Musuem, Calgary Tower are all great places to visit in Calgary.

Just northeast of Calgary is Drumheller.  They have the Royal Tyrell Musuem - dinosaurs.  Fantastic place and worth the drive.
