  1. You've got tons of options in that area--many that don't include chain restaurants!

Go to www.menupages.com to check out all the restaurants.  You can pinpoint them by area and cuisine.

    Some places around there:

    *Junior's Cheesecake

    *Bubba Gump

    *Brooklyn Diner

*Tony DiNapoli's (highly recommended and very affordable)

    *Carmine's

    *John's Pizzeria

    *Ruby Foo's

Also head West on 46th Street--this street is lined with restaurant after restaurant so you can just walk and take a pick.

  2. olive garden (italian) at times square is the classic place to eat for dinner.  if you want traditional american then i would suggest hard rock cafe.  Seafood-wise i'd go with bubba gump's or Red lobster.  most of the places around the area arent really meant for exotic fine dining but rather its meant for tourist attractions.

  3. Pop burger. The tiny burgers are tasty and you get two of them.  Add some tasty fries and a drink. Don't eat meat? Try the Invisible Burger, which is a grilled portabella mushroom served like a burger.

Like the night scene, go here at night when it turns into a night club.  During the day it is great for the kids!

  4. For a quick lunch spot try finding a chain called Pret A Manger.  They are a UK chain that has many stores in NYC.  I recommend the Coronation Chicken sandwich.

    www.pret.com for locations

As for the Times Square area, there are many chain places to eat such as Applebee's TGIFriday's, Red Lobster...that sort of thing.  You have to go a little off of the main area to find other places to eat.

  5. Bubba Gump Shrimp Company- YOU NEED TO GO HERE! It is so good and inexpensive and right in Times Square. If you don't like shrimp they have burgers, fish and chips and best of all - wrapped up in a Forest Gump Theme.

Hard Rock- Come on, this one is so rockin' its so cool. A little more pricy but has a great atmosphere and great food.

Uhhh.... Lets see..... Pretzel Vendors are always good... and umm..... I'll get back to you on breakfast!

  6. Blue Fin - an adorable two level bar/restaurant - low lighting, music and always a great time - on Broadway right in Times Square!
