  1. Yes, gondola ride, absolutely.

  2. keep to the back streets - tour the doge's palace etc and the square but eat and drink around the back - it is much much cheaper - DO go on a gondola!

  3. I didn't bother with the gondola because it seemed to me like riding a horse and carriage down a motorway! But that's not to say you shouldn't do it - but, as another respondant have wisely said - look out for the prices! Other than that, just walk about the place and don't worry about getting lost - you won't be lost for long. There is something around every corner that makes you stop and gasp! Also if you happen to see Rondo Veniziano are performing anywhere then GET TICKETS! They are fantastic - even if you think it doesn't look like your scene I promise it'll be an experience you won't forget and Venice is the perfect place for it! Have the best time!

  4. Shopping is great around the Rialto there is a market there but you'll find shops just about everywhere. Loads of the younger Italians congregate around the bars by the Rialto also in the evening. It's really athmospheric. The Doge's palace is great as is the Accademia. If you do go on a gondola beware. You're talking about ninety euros for just 40 mins and under. If you can speak Italian all the better as the goldoliers do tend to rip you off a bit. For great views take a vaporetto along the whole of the grand canal. Very cheap and you get to see alot. The surrounding islands are lovely too especially Murano where they make the glass.

    Have a lovely time.

  5. Definitely go to St. Mark's! Pay the extra €3-4 to view it up-close--it's worth it! Watch out for those stupid pigeons, though! Definitely ride a gondola! You must! It's extremely fun! Hmmm...as for shopping...why don't you visit the local glass shops and pick up some Venetian glass? Expensive, but worth it. Nightlife? Hmm...as the above commenter said, visit the discos--they're pretty popular. Luckily, you can order alcohol and no one'll ask for your I.D! Have fun over there!

    Buon viaggio!

  6. Tip - on the Gondola ride. At first it will be around 90 Euros, but as soon as you say No! and walk away the price just keeps dropping. We got our 40 min gondola ride for about 25 euro. Not bad, eh?

  7. Go to St. Mark’s Square and visit Basilica of St.Marco. Go to Rialto Bridge there is one of the city’s most famous Grand Canal views and many shops too.

You can walk between St. Mark’s Square and Rialto along little streets where you can find many shops(all brands and all things for girls).

Ride on the little boat along Canal Grande, that is the best way to experience Venice!

Dont forget to buy Venetian Masks and Murano Glass which are the most popular products in Venice.

Nightlife - Here are some of popular clubs in Venice: Mestre,Disco Club PiccoloMondo, Calle Contarini-Corfu, Dorsoduro, CasanovaDiscoClub.

    Have fun!
