Hello, myself and my partner are looking into moving to Canada next year.My partner suffers from seasonal affective disorder so he gets depressed in winter especially when its grey and dull and as we live in Scotland we get lots of it!! Any advice where a good place to live would be? We aren't too bothered about the cold as long as its not always raining and dull/cloudy.Brightness in winter would be fab.We are looking for somewhere with good job opportunities.Im a holistic/massage therapist and skincare/cosmetics consultant and my partner is a personal trainer.Any info would be greatly appreciated.Thank you.

  1. Well you could move to the Artic, the land of the midnight sun.

  2. If you are looking to move to Canada and suffer from seasonal affective disorder than it would be best to stay away from the northern territories as they have very long dark winters.

    British Columbia is always raining and cloudy during winter and not sunny at all.

    The brightest winters would be found in southern Alberta, which is on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains.  Lots of snow sunshine and winter activities.  The economy there is booming at this time and work is easy to find.

    The Province of Ontario and Quebec are also bright in winter time and lately Ontario has been having mild winters' with plenty of sunshine.  Ontario is a very prosperous Province as well when it comes to job opportunities.

    Quebec is very cold as are the Maritime Provinces of Newfoundland (the rock) as we call it;

    Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and  P.E.I. are also very cold in winter and because they are on the Atlantic seaboard they can be misty and foggy and damp. The job opportunities are not as great in the Maritimes either.

    Where ever you move to in Canada,  I do hope you find success and plenty of sunshine!
