  1. The missing links are the fossils of the transitional species. These consist of the half reptile half bird, half reptile half fish, and half reptile half mammal. They are called links because their fossils are needed in order to prove evolution. They are called missing because their fossils have never been found. When Charles Darwin said "There are many key points missing that are needed in order to prove evolution", the missing link fossils must be one of them.


  2. The missing link thing is a myth conjured up by those pushing Creation as an acceptable alternative to evolution.  There are many transitional species in the fossil record.  You just need to find them.  Here's an example.
