Specifically 2012 and the ozone hole? I guess global cooling, warming on Mars and the MWP have been beat to death, but the 2012 nonsense is really having some bad effect on the young.

  1. 2012

is the date mentioned in many prophesies

    but it was mis translated

    the texts said

Jesus would be with us to the end of the age

the Christian culture is trying to turn it in the end of the world ,to freak people out ,so they may get more converts.

the Mayas said 2012 was the end of the age

again not the end of the world

the end of the age of Piscis ,

and the beginning of the age of Aquarius

this movie explains nicely how the mistakes were made

    http://www.zeitgeistmovie.com/

the nonsense as you call it was started

    ,over 2000 years ago

so yes that is new compared to the real history

    of humanity.

see  Zacheria Sitchin for details on that

  2. the problem is one person posts something that looks reasonable. then many other people repoast it you can see this all the time. its a massive cycle.

  3. They are basically a mix of misunderstanding between facts. I know that many really believes in 2012 that our Earth will be "done" and gone. But really, this is just one group of researchers' story and one that can not be taken into account by  itself. Same thing with many other theories.

The problem with global warming is that it is often a sensitive subject, especially with "end of world" theories and such. Many theorists out there as well scientists actually conduct a research and proof of the possibility of these things.

What I suggest is you, personally, should look into choosing and believing in the right theories and researches. Note that not all scientists are right, and not all theories are correct. All that we know right now is that global warming do exist and that humans are a part of the cause.

Nevertheless, it is not right to give exact years of maximum global warming as well as exact facts, when really, human technology can only analyze so much.

  4. I'm not sure if you were really asking a question, but as far as I know, the 2012 idea is coming mostly from Ancient Aztec (I think) legends that said the world would end on December 12, 2012.  I've heard that this as far as the Aztec calender goes, or something to that effect.

There was a show about this and other 2012 legends on the History channel before.

  5. Well, today's youth in America are wrapped up in the 80's for some un-Godly reason...most likely it's their parents' nostalgia kicking in.  The big environmental bogeyman of the 1980s was the hole in the ozone...so you've got indoctrinated parents sharing their knowledge with indoctrinated kids.  What a great education system we have here!

The 2012 nonsense has been around for decades.  Has to do with a dead culture's calender ending that year.  It's only gathering steam as we get closer to it, just like the year 2000 was a "frightening" year.  It was a big, round number!  Oh no!!
