  1. Yes, the resort Richard K mentioned looks beautiful in the pictures. I haven't been but I know that most of the pictures of these places do justice and are more beautiful in person. I guess he wouldn't keep going back if it wasn't good there.

Holguin is a nice area....Cayo Coco is also another beautiful area, one of my personal favourites.

The beaches are just beautiful with clear turquoise waters and soft white sand. Tryp Cayo Coco is a great resort with fabulous staff, entertainment, activities, accomodations, food...you name it.

It's just about the only resort you'll find along that beach strip that is livelier than the others. A lot of beach activities, fun salsa music, etc....but it's very easy to relax if you want and no one will interfere with your 'downtime'.

The layout is an open-concept, bright and beautiful...and the resorts in Cayo Coco/Guillermo are only 15 minutes away from the airport.

You'll enjoy Cuba though anywhere you go.

  2. My resort of choice is Sol Melia  Rio Luna y Mares.  To me it is fantastic, great beach, staff and excellent dining.  You fly into Holguin then the bus takes you to the resort at Guardalavaca, about an hour away.  Check the links below for some good info.  No matter where you go in Cuba the beaches are wonderful.  Enjoy our trip.  Be sure to check the tripadvisor site for reviews.

  3. Varadero- Matanzas

    Guardalavaca-Holguin

any hotelin any of those beaches is 4 star
