  1. Three places:

    Southwest part of the province, centred on the city of Swift Current,

    Southeast Saskatchewan, centred on the small cities of Estevan and Weyburn,

    West-Central Saskatchewan, centred on the city of Lloydminster. To the north of "Lloyd", there is exploration for potential heavy oil deposits.

  3. Clearwater Valley area, near Churchill Lake. Based on research to date the deposits appear to be small and widely scattered, too deep to mine, too shallow for conventional in situ technology, and therefore not likely to be economic, yet.
