Think of me

think of me fondly, when

we've said goodbye

remember me

once in a while, please

promise me you'll try

When you find,

that once again you long

to take your heart back,

and be free

if you ever find a moment,

spare a thought for me

We never said

our love was evergreen

or as unchanging as the sea...

but if you can still remember,

stop and think of me

Think of all the things

we've shared and seen,

don't think about the things

which might have been

Think of me

think of me waking, silent

and resigned...

imagine me, trying too hard to

put you from my mind...

Recall those days,

look back on all those times,

think of the things

we'll never do...

there will never be a day when

I won't think of you

We never said

our love was evergreen

or as unchanging as the sea...

but please promise me,

that sometimes

you will think of me

Elements such as simile, metaphor, aliteration, assonance, ect.

  1. that song lacks originality and any poetic elements.

  2. No where. Ew.

  3. i love that song!

  4. Sort of a simile here:

    We never said

    our love was evergreen

    Metaphor here:

or as unchanging as the sea...

  5. 1. You've got repetition in lines and stanzas that have been repeated. You'll find this is easy to

    2. You have assonance in all of the vowel patterns that are the same. (Long e in evergrEEn and sEA, plEAse). Sometimes people think of assonance (same vowel sound patterns) as being half rhymes.  I bet you can find some more! ;-)

    3. You have rhyme (me, sea, free)

    4. There is only a little bit of alliteration (same consonant sounds repeated). I see it happen with the "W" sound. Can you find it?

    5. Similie is anything that is being compared to another phenomenon. Usually this is tipped off by the word "like" or "as".  You can find this in the "We never said" stanzas.

    6. Metaphors--I don't believe metaphors are included in this song.  :-) Metaphors compare something to something else under the illusion that it really IS the other thing. These will not be tipped off by words such as "like" and "as".

    Hope this helped.
