Where are the safety switches located on a Murray riding mower? I've replaced the i.s.,batt,&celinoid Help!!!!

I've replaced the ignition switch, the cellinoid, and the battery, and it still does nothing. I was told there are safety switched or something I can disconnect, but I can't find them on the mower.

Where are they hidden? thanks.

  1. Yes, under the seat...

    Also, on my MTD made Huskee there is one on the PTO (PTO must be off), on the break (Break must be depressed when starting) and on the F-N-R shift  lever (Mower shuts off when you shift to reverse and the PTO is engaged)

    These things are a PIA. I want to disable them. I want to be able to mow in reverse especially.


  2. Under the seat for one. It requires you to be seated to start and run it. There's usually a two wire cable, with a plug, going to it. If the cable isn't there you need to find what happened to it. If someone removed the cable, the interlock system will be open and prevent the mower from starting.
