  1. There are no more silver dollars in active circulation.  You can still find them at coin shops at premium prices.  If you want the newer Sacajawea dollars, or the new presidential dollars, the banks do have those.  Sometimes, they will have the Eisenhower dollars available, but not too often anymore.

  2. They have not minted what are truly silver dollars for circulation since 1935. The last so-called silver dollars were for collectors and were 40% silver Ike dollars. The different dollar coins from 1979 and up have no silver in them and should be available at most banks. The ones  most common today should be the gold colored Presidential ones. the U.S. mints do make a number of silver dollar commemorative dollar coins but they sell well above the dollar denomination that is on them. Banks do not get them for they are for sale to collectors and have nothing to do with everyday banking business. I live in Northern New hampshire and even our banks here have the gold colored Presidential dollars. You will not get any silver ones from a bank for none are made for circulation.

  3. No they don't, we now have the dollar coins. Presidential commemorative series and the Susan B. Anthony.
