Please be more decriptive then on top of the heads because I am telling you that they are not s***w in thermstats. They are very small and white. There is nothing clearly visible from behind the engine. I do not see them here or there I do not see them anywhere. Are they inline? are they inside the heads? Please let me know if you have the same year or similar model, remember it is a 1995, all help is appreciated.

  1. There are no screws there's a large plug>On each head>

  2. picture worth 1,000 words:

    go to http://shop.evinrude.com

    click on "online parts catalogue"

select "Johnson" from the drop-down box

drill down to your year/hp/model #

    click on "cylinder & crankcase"

    find part #52

well, don't get the seloc manual, it's completely useless.

pretty sure you have to take the lower cowl off

highly recommend you post your question here:

  3. follow the water line that goes into the block, also you might not have any  my 115 mercury didnt have any

  4. There is a rectangle box that has two hoses to it, IT is right between the heads and at the lowest point. There should be a hose to each head. This is on the Back side of the motor, right above where the powerhead and upper case connect.

Anyway the thermo's are in the rectangle box.

Look at exhaust housing on the online thing above.

    #29 should be the thermo's.

there are two hoses, one from each head, there should be some bolts holding it in place. the box is in half and is easily maneuvered out.

you will undo the hoses as well.

All OMC 4 cyl have thermo's. in the same place. from 1970's up.  one for each head.

according to clymer, you remove the cover screws,2 or 3 of them, tap the cover with soft hammer, to break seal, then remove cover. remove gaskets, grommets, springs, and pressure valves, discard the grommets and gaskets.
