I'm from the Adirondacks. I grew up in a town called Lake Clear and it lived up to its name. The Adirondacks are a national park in northern NY state, very protected from development, and still have the clearest water I have ever seen.

You have to know a local to find Lake Clear beach, but it's the best swimming and clearest water in the world. There are plenty of others though. Many lakes there, however, have pristine beaches.

West Coast of FL has nice beaches Clearwater, St Pete, Bradenton. One of the beaches near Clearwater was rated cleanest or nicest beach not to long ago.
