Where are there outdoor reception sites for a wedding reception?

my fiance and i want a tented outdoor reception, but are having a really hard time finding a place. alot places don't have the option of strictly staying outdoors - most of it is indoor with outside areas. that's not what we want. we live in the metro detroit (livonia/westland) area. can anyone give me any ideas?

Hi and congratulations!

I grew up in the Detroit area myself and now live in upper Michigan.

I don't want to "rain on your parade" so to speak, but if you live in Michigan (or anywhere other than Hawaii for that matter), you better have an indoor spot for a backup.  It sounds all nice and romantic, and I'm hoping it will be for you....but there is that chance that it could be pouring down rain.  So what then?

The only true outdoor spots that I can think of would be a park, but then what would you do for electricity?

There are many nice indoor/outdoor areas (golf clubs come to my mind) that can probably serve you the best.

Go on theknot.com and go on the local Detroit board and see what others can suggest for you.  I do know that there are lots of nice places in the Detroit metro area.  Plymouth and Ann Arbor come to my mind first.

Have you contacted your local Park board? Some golf courses also allow tented receptions so long as the tent is not staked.  Try talking to someone that lives further out in the country and has a large yard.

You need to check go to The Knot.com and search weddings in MIchigan!

Try google.com to see what pops up!

Their is a magazine that is strictly dedicated to Michigan brides,you need to pick that up!

Try calling different wedding Planners in Michigan to see if they can refer u to someone!
