Where are there tiny snails in my turtle tank and where did they come from?

I clean my tank out thoroughly every 4 wks but last night i noticed lots of tiny little snails sat on the basking area. Where did they come from and are they dangerous 2 my turtles?

Snail eggs often find their way into tanks and aquaria, introduced on aquatic and semi-aquatic plants

if you have live plants then they probably hatched off of these, i sometimes get them in my fish tank, they won't do your turtle any harm and they might even eat them, i usually leave them in as they help with the cleaning of the tank every few weeks i just clean them out to control the numbers
