  1. i sure hope not the superdome. been there done that.

  2. up north.

  3. I know that our hospital here is taking in 350 patients and we are in texas so I guess all surrounding areas and states

  4. why do u care , you going take people in cause its none of your d**n business where we are going

just kiddin , they going to various spots in north louisiana and memphis and other places in nearby states

  5. Some are coming to San Antonio and are already here.  Shelters are being set up.

The Red Cross is your safest bet for donations.

  6. The buses are taking people to a variety of shelters in northern Louisiana and Tennessee.  The locations are not being publicly disclosed but aren't really a secret.  The evacuees will be able to communicate with the outside world and tell their friends & family where they are.  If all goes well they will be bussed back to New Orleans in a few days.

The locations are not being disclosed because the "plan" is to send people who don't have their own transport to places where there is room for them all.  The "plan" does not want people with their own transport simply showing up en masse at the shelters, thus creating crowding problems and possibly displacing the evacuees going by bus.

For example, the plan sends 500 people on buses to the XYZ high school (shelter) in Abctown. The location of the shelter is made public and 1000 people in cars get there first. There is now no room for the 500, many of whom are elderly or have special needs. Where do you take the 500 people on the buses?

Note that anyone can use the buses to evacuate.  You don't have to be poor or without transport of your own.  In New Orleans just go to the AmTrak/Greyhound station and sign up.

You can argue this both ways, but that's the reality.

  7. Well, im watching CNN. Some of the people getting on the buses are being taken to airports and being flown to - well nobody knows. I guess they are just happy to be getting the h**l away.

  8. a lil bit of everywhere tenn, miss, upstate la, just moving up further out the way  but its gonna reach a long way

  9. It's not important where they're sent.  They just need to be out of New Orleans if or when Gustav hits.  We don't need a repeat of 2005.

  10. Texas is taking 15,000 evacuees, Alabama is taking 10,000 evacuees (officially). Arkansas, northern Louisiana, northern Mississippi, Georgia and the surrounding area.

There will be NO shelters in New Orleans.
