  1. I'm from the same place where you are from, it's easy yet knowledge is limited or there is knowledge but not authentic enough.

  2. I'm in London and the muzzy community ain't that bad Alhamdulillah :D

  3. I'm from Pakistan, living in California. There is a great community here, a decent amount Arabs, Pakistanis, Africans, all over and we all get along very well! We have the best imam allhumdulillah! I used to live in San Francisco, there are a lot more muslims there but they aren't as practicing or as good people, no offense. They are more concerned with this dunya rather than the next, but where I live now is LOADS better!

  4.   I'm from Jamaica, New York and living as a Muslim in NY has its challenges, but, it's not bad.  There are masjids throughout the boroughs (Queens, Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn and Staten Island) as well as Islamic stores (there's one by the masjid I go to and one in Harlem I like to go to).  I haven't noticed any hostility towards me or other Muslims I see.  My co-workers are real respectful and my supervisors are very supportive when I want to take off for Eid celebrations (I just got 1-3 OCT 2008 off, insha'Allah AND explained some things about Eid Ul Fitr to my immediate supervisor, alhamdullah

  5. USA.... If u wear hijab obviously u get looks here and maybe u'll get treated unfairly sometimes, and get stares... personally I think it's a jihad by itself wearing hijab....

in banglore i will be begin to do dahwa inshallah lot of non muslims there i dont know how it will be

  7. I'm from North Jersey and it feels fresh and clean being a Muslim.

  8. I am from the United States of America.  I enjoy being Muslim here.

  9. im from Jordan, living in peace clears up that Islam is our religion.

  10. Mintee & Wolf - I'm American, and I am wearing hijab in my US passport and my driver's license....as well as my iqama and Aramco ID in Saudi Arabia.  You don't have to remove your scarf, just your niqab.  For your US passport, you just need to send a letter along with your application explaining why you're covering your hair.  (that is...unless the law has changed in the past 5 years or so, which I don't know why it would...)

It's easy being a muslim in Saudi Arabia.  It's easy to wear niqab and for men it's easy to grow your beard without being discriminated against or looked at funny.

In Saudi Arabia, anytime you need to be checked for your ID, you will go into a private room where there is a woman who will check your ID.  If you need a security check, like a pat down or metal detection, it's also a woman.  In a few cases, my husband has needed to show my ID to a man, but he kept my face covered and didn't hand them my ID.  (for example, proving we're married to stay in a hotel.)

  11. I'm from Birmingham, UK and it's wicked, Like Pakistan No.2 haha.

    Are you from Bradistan?

In london dough there is more islamic activities, lectures, talks, to go to which strengthen my faith and i think there needs to be more of these in BD.

    Assalamu alaikum wb

  15. I am living in Georgia and I love being Muslim here, even though I am constantly stared at (sometimes more than other times)...We have a Mosque here with  a moderate amount of Muslims..No shops really to speak of.It doesn't bother me to be different than others, I just do what I believe in...I wear hijab all the time and sometimes when I am at the gym  people are uncomfortable around me and will leave..I do my best to ignore the looks and whispers when I am out..I read one of the sisters answer above and she said she was not allowed to take passport pic with hijab...It is allowed  but you will have to submit a letter stating you wear it for Religious reasons, that's what I did...Some people are judgemental, especially here in the South, and don't bother to know you or even care to know you...I just live my life day by day trying to be the best Muslim I can and doing what's right......

  16. I'm from Northwestern Ohio USA.  The Muslims in my community, aren't really big.  They don't live together in one community.  There is only one Mosque here, and one Islamic school for Preschool-12th grade.  If the Muslims lived together in one community, then we might get killed.  No Muslim woman, I have seen wears Abaya or Niqab, not even the Middle Eastern Muslimahs who are in the USA with their husbands.  When I walk in a grocery store, or in the park with my husband, people stare at me like I'm a freak of nature.  I was forced to take my hijab off to get my passport photo, because the woman refused to let me wear my hijab.  Parents pull their kids away from me, when I pass them.  I can't get a babysitting job because of my religion, and because I only have 4.5 years experience babysitting(I babysat for my cousins from 14-15.5 years old).  There are only 2 hala markets in our city, and one of the markets has old chicken that they sell.  There are no clothing stores for Muslims in my city, and the Middle Eastern Market sells hijabs only.  The Mosque is 20 minutes from where my husband and I live.  To send your kids to Islamic school, is like $500-1,000+ a month out of pocket. It's very hard and frustrating being a Muslim in my town.
