Light dinner would be most any cafe although the one I tend to go to (just out of habit) is Cafe Conti at 1, rue de Buci in the 6th arr. http://www.paris-zoom.com/place.asp?P=Le...

For groceries there is a Super Market on the Rue Buci one block west of its intersection with the rue de l'Ancienne Comedie. There's also a street market there plus several nice pastry shops and a good boulangerie.
