  1. Try Palavers site actually on the beach, with restaurant and all facilities. Bus stop outside to take you to town if you don't want to walk or drive. Lots of yachts to look at. The site was pretty reasonable about 11 euros a night that was with electricity. The site had a shop selling all the necessary items and fresh bread.

  2. Mont pellier would be my choice 50 miles southwest of Marseille on the gulf of lion very nice area and polite and friendly atmosphere

  3. most french sites are excellent. i can tell you which one NOT to go to. its called berges du canal. villeneuve de bezier. it is dirty. unkempt and neglected. we left early because it was so bad.

this link has sites all over france . im sure you will find somewhere nice.

  4. I can thoroughly recommend Camping Brasilia in Canet Plage, near Perpignan. It's a beautiful site; spotlessly clean, right on the beach, great pool, family-orientated etc etc.

Or if you'd prefer to be close to St Tropez, a good choice is Les Prairies de la Mer in Port Grimaud. 'Port Grimbo' is the French equivalent of Venice - built on a system of canals. Very attractive. The only problem is, being just a few miles from St Tropez, it's not the cheapest place in the world.

One to avoid is Nouvelle Floride (nickname Poubelle Horride) in Marseillan Plage, near Cap d'Agde. Horrendous site.
