Any where, that is known to all and easily accessible to all members at home.

Kitchen is the best place... bathrooms are too humid for a kit.

As for what to put in it...

Tylenol, cold packs, hot packs, gauze (different sizes), medical tape, Benadryl, band aids, saline,  tweezers, cpr mask, emergency phone numbers, ... think of what your immediate needs are at home and go with that.

Mine is in the kitchen where most domestic accidents occur. It's a little green plastic box with all the essentials in it.
