Where best place to live near equator with no hurricanes?

When I grow up I would like to live near the equator where the water is warm but i don't want to have to deal with hurricanes, typhoons, and tsunami's.

    There is a place almost on the equator where you might want to consider living in.

    It is hurricane free, natural disaster free and it is a very safe place to live in - very low crime. Its summer at year round with possiblity of rain all year too.

    It's called Singapore.

The Sahara Desert.  It is very close to the equator and is far from hurricanes, typhoons, and tsunamis.  The rainstorms are few and far between.  If you stayed in the states, you would have to go to Arizona or New Mexico.  California gets some storms off the Pacific.  The states to the east have hurricanes.  Most of the states to the north have tornados or hurricanes and are farther from the equator.
