Where can I buy Hilsa(ilish) fish in Redmond/Bellevue/Seattle Area? Heard near ranch99(kent),but not sure?

I am dying to get Hilsa.But not sure where to find.I live in Redmond.

Indian grocery store keeps some but they are like Mummies from ancient time. Any idea where can I get little fresh? I heard there is some market near Ranch99 of kent(Washington) but not sure.

The market near Kent that you've heard about it probably India Bazaar.  I don't think they have fresh hilsa there, although I suppose it's possible that they might have some that is frozen.

There are also two other stores in Kent, but I've never been to either one.  Still, if India Bazaar doesn't have hilsa, maybe one of these stores carries it.  In any event, it's probably worth a call.

I could be wrong, of course, but I don't think you will find *fresh* hilsa around here.  I know that Bengali friends on the east coast haven't been able to get any there, but they say that shad--which is available fresh in season--tastes almost the same.  That's what they use instead of hilsa.  But good luck--I hope you find it.
