Where can I buy Proofs (Advance Copies) of Books in San Francisco?

In New York, there was a store by Union Square called "The Strand" which in the basement sold hundreds of advance copies or "proofs" of books. When I was there, they sold them for 99 cents (I think they were in the process of (gasp) doubling their cost to $2!) I was wondering if there was any place in San Francisco that was similar.
