I have a Sony 46" rear projection tv and the screen is in great condition. However, we are having a child soon and figured to protect it I should get one of those big screen tv protectors...Where do you buy these?? I can't find any stores in my area, and I'd rather check it out and buy in person than online, and end up with the wrong size/screen or whatever...

  1. Probably Best Buy or some other technical store...

  2. Actually, most screen protectors are a thing of the past.....

But you can make your own.....get the height and width of the screen you're protecting, ADD 2 inches to the height and width so you can put VELCRO TAPE around the frame....

Now, go to your lumberyard or hardware store and order up a piece of LEXAN  with those dimensions, get a spool of VELCRO. Place the Velcro on the screen or on the TV....whichever way works best for the best contact surface for the Lexan....

Pull off the paper, lift the Lexan up to the Velcro, center it and PRESS it on....

Voila ! Instant screen protector at 1/3 the cost of a kit !

And with a kit, you STILL would have to center the screen on the Velcro tape.....

Just remember to clean the frame with alcohol to remove any oils, and I suggest TWO people to center the screen on the TV set....
