Where can I buy a False Cobra or a False Water Cobra?

Question

Coolest snakes ever, period. I heard they were mildly venomous but I got a hook and gloves and a steel reinforced cage for it. Want one really bad, I searched all over the place for the breed I wanted but I can't find them for sale anywhere.

Where do you live because there is a shop near me in stockport that always has a couple of false water cobras in.

Hello; I definitely agree with you. False Water Cobras are amazing. Watch out for their feeding instinct, though. While they are generally docile when being handled, they have a tendency to strike first and ask questions later when they see movement in their terrariums. ;)

As far as where you can get them; I regularly see them for sale in the Venomous and the Other Snakes classifieds section at http://www.kingsnake.com . You can also try http://www.faunaclassifieds.com , or possibly even http://www.lllreptile.com . I've seen some advertised on Kingsnake before.  The venom has been compared to many of the crotalus species so they aren't actually mild.  I would treat them like any other hot.  They are also very messy snakes, having fast metabolisms so they deficate more often. Reptiles magazine just had an article on them.  You might be able to get a back issue if you don't get it.  I think it was in their venomous special addition. They are neat snakes.
