I'm making a Scarecrow costume (Batman, not Wizard of Oz) and I need a small/medium size burlap sack for the mask. What local stores would have this? Thanks.

  1. Your local CO-OP or feed store should have some.

  2. If you live in a rural area, a local farmer or farmer's wife may have some laying around they'd be willing to give you.

Check you local fabric shops like Joann's, Hobby Lobby or maybe your local WalMart (if they haven't remodeled recently). You might also check TSC (Tractor Supply Co.), a grain elevator or feed mill, an Amish or Mennonite store or hardware store.

You can also try eBay for burlap fabric. Search Crafts: Sewing & Fabric : Fabric  or type 'burlap sack' in the search bar.

If none of these work, try finding a piece of loosely woven linen fabric and dye it with tea or coffee to the correct coloring.
