I'm looking for my first car and I'm having trouble finding anything under $1,000. Where can I find a cheaper, yet reliable vehicle?

Go to a car auction. Some of them have cars for $500. I got my first car from an auction and saved $3,000. Just be sure to give it a good inspection before buying because they are sold in as-is condition.
