  1. Places like Walmart carry the cheapest...however, when we bought a mini fridge for our kid's dorms, we went to Sears which is both reasonable priced and backed up with a service plan.

  2. If your short on cash you can always check out your local freecycle chapter.  Go to yahoo groups and see if there is one in your area.  This is a great way to get free stuff that no one wants anymore.  Just sign up and ask for what you are looking for and if someone has it and doesn't want it anymore, they'll get in touch with you.

  3. Depends on how big or small you need. I was surprised that Lowes had them cheaper than Walmart. You need to check online to make sure your local store has them in stock, but if not, you can have it shipped there free.

  4. Craigslist.com or LiveSimon.com usuallu has good local deals

  5. see if your roommate has one.. i am just telling you.. I had a mini fridge in my dorm and Never used it. it held water and thats it.. All my beer was in my bestfriends dorm bc we drank in his room =)

  6. one thing ive learned is that if you want to purchase something cheap, i mean real cheap it has to be illegal. so go to your local p**o or an indian merchant or somthing. specially asian stores they have this smuggled.

  7. I hate to have to admit this because I hate them but Wal-Mart usually has them cheap.  I worked for them for 6 years and we got them every year for back-to-school.  The BTS section usually has a "dorm" section where they sell area rugs and stuff and they usually have mini-fridges, cheap coffee makers, hot plates, etc.

You'd be surprised where you'll find them, though! You can check big box hardware stores like Menards and Home Depot, I've seen them there pretty reasonably priced.  If you don't want to go all the way there to check you can always call and ask.

    Good luck!

  8. Take your pick: Walmart, Target, Meijer, Home Depot, Lowes...

When I was at school, our mini-fridges were always in use.  One year, there were two stacked on top of each other, and one sitting next to it - we had the Alcohol Fridge, the Leftover and Cheese Fridge, and the Freezer Fridge (on a really cold temp).

Even now, years later, my old mini-fridge is in my basement and I have another in the garage.  Get a good quality one from a company you trust, and it lasts for life - or pretty darn close.  Look for a good deal, and spend your money well - don't go after a dirt cheap, throwaway one.  If you do, you'll regret it when you have to buy a new one next year.
