Where can I buy a .com website and create it myself?

I want to create my own website using someone's software/template and have the .com at the end. I'm willing to pay for it b/c if it's free I'd have to have advertisements, etc, right?

I use GoDaddy.com but there are many registrants out there.  I just bought two years of hosting and name registration for under $100 (for 2 years!) so to me, that's a pretty good deal.  And if you search Google for a "godaddy coupon code" you might find one that works! :)

Go daddy is a great website,however, it takes a long time to make. it's only $50.00 a month .

I've used 1&1 (1and1.com) for years and absolutely love their service. Packages are reasonably priced, and domain names cost about $6.99 year with 1&1. And you can create the site yourself - 1&1 charges hosting fees, but they have a number of different packages.

Other hosting companies offer similar rates and packages - you just have to pick the one that works best for you.
