Where can I buy a decent hybrid bike for 200$-250$?

I'd like to buy a new bicycle, preferably a hybrid (don't need a mountain bike but it's what I've always had).

What could I get for 200-250$ ?

If you are the right height a Forge bike is the best for the money.

I bought the Saranac and it's a very nice bike for $200 .

The only problem is that you have to mail order them from Target and put them together yourself or have a bike shop do it.

Yes, a hybrid - or a road bike? - is the way to go.

I agree that you can often find a good, inexpensive, bike used. Often times, if you thumb through your local newspaper you can find one there.

A visit to the local bike shop wouldn't hurt.

Anyway, I'd say a new 200-250 dollar NEW *quality* bike would be impossible to find...

buy used, you will be able to afford a much nicer bike than a new one.
